It’s another beautiful morning! It doesn’t hurt that I’m feeling skinnier already. Day 2 of the 5-Day Inferno. I’m feeling great and ready to do this! Last night I ended up doing the workout, FIRE 55EZ (don’t let the name fool you, there’s nothing easy about it) and Stretch 10 pretty late, but it felt great. Love, love, love TurboFire!! I’ve done a LOT of exercise videos over the years and this is by far my favorite, with Chalene Johnson’s other programs, Turbo Jam and ChaLEAN Extreme, coming is as a close second. Yep, they’re tied. If you want to try TurboFire for yourself you can get it through my facebook fan page AND I’ll be your coach AND you get a free bonus workout by getting through a coach…AND you’ll pay less for shipping than if you order through the regular Beachbody website. Just sayin’.

8:30am – Breakfast, which consisted of 6oz strawberry yogurt (the plan calls for lowfat, but I used Yoplait Light which is nonfat), 3/4c. cubed canteloupe and 1tsp. honey (I also added two smallish strawberries, quartered, because they were left over from the kids’ breakfast of Chocolate Banana Shakeology and strawberries).

10:30am – I was pondering if I should drink my Shakeology which was the AM snack and then try to get some more sleep or sleep first and then drink it. I opted to wait on the Shakeology because I know how much energy it gives me and was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to fall asleep which has happened before. So I drank some water, about 20oz and went to bed.

2:30pm – Back up again and having my Chocolate Peanut Butter shake! Yumm! If one would consider this eating plan a “diet” then this feels like cheating.

5:15 – Started my workout. FIRE45, HIIT20 and Stretch 10. WOW!!! Drank almost 40oz water.

7:20pm – Had my second snack, celery with peanut butter (no raisins because I didn’t have any and I was going to use Craisins, but was fine with just the p.b.) I was so ready to eat. Those workouts really kicked my metabolism into gear!

8:15 – Dinner – ginger short grain brown rice, garlic sesame bok choy, grilled pineapple and grilled teriyaki wild salmon.

10:45pm – Was feeling hungry again so I had my final meal and it really hit the spot. This would’ve been lunch if I hadn’t taken that nap. My friend and I found these great whole wheat low-carb tortillas at Costco (and also saw them at Winco, but of course Costco had a much better price) when we were out shopping for this together. They have 12(!)g fiber and 8g protein and they’re only 80 calories. That was topped with 4 slices (4oz) turkey, 1/2 tomato, diced, 3 Romaine lettuce leaves, chopped, 1/4 large avocado, sliced and 1Tbs fat-free Italian dressing. I have no idea how in the world I wrapped that all up, but I did and it was tasty. The avocado made all the difference. To keep the rest of the avocado from turning completely brown by the next time I use I put the two halves back together with the pit still inside and wrapped it tightly in plastic wrap before putting it in the fridge. I was also very pleased with the paper bag method for ripening. When I woke up this afternoon all the avocadoes were still hard so I stuck one in a paper bag and closed it up. By the time I made the wrap it was perfect.

I’ll probably be going to bed soon and plan on drinking at least another 20oz water before I do. Still feeling great and looking forward to tomorrow!!

Day 3

Day 4

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a food journal entry, not because I’ve stopped eating but because it was truly driving me crazy. It had become something negative for me so I’ve found a way to turn it into something positive. Instead of going through every little detail of every bite I’m going to post the highlights. If it’s healthy and especially delicious I’ll try to take photos then post all of them once a week (or so). This is motivating me to find new and interesting things to make which is a good thing.

Of course, if I’m going to include healthy and delicious foods I can’t leave out my Shakeology which was recently featured in “O” Magazine. You can’t get it from Oprah, but you’ll find it in my online store on facebook.

This was a great snack…peppers, carrots, radishes and a homemade avocado and yogurt dressing that was lowfat and delicious.

Black bean soup from Sam the Cooking Guy made in the slow cooker.

Salad with more of the avocado and yogurt dressing.

That gets me caught up to today. More later! 😀 If you’d like recipes for anything I post leave a comment.

Today was the first meeting for the local weightloss/fitness challenge group which was a lot of fun. It’s been a while since we’ve had guests who are older than our kids and didn’t want to play Call of Duty. 😉 Since we met around dinner time, we ate and it was really good. One of the members has been doing the Shakeology 3-day cleanse so we had food that would fit into her eating plan. I don’t think any of us felt deprived and everything was from the top two tiers of Michi’s Ladder, a breakdown of which foods are best and worst to eat for overall health. The Ladder consists of 5 tiers ranging from the best of the best to the stuff that should be avoided at all costs. Contact me on facebook for more info about Michi’s Ladder and other great tools for weightloss and getting fit.

Breakfast – Chocolate Shakeology made with 8oz water, 4oz organic skim milk, 1Tbs sugar-free butterscotch pudding mix, 3 ice cubes (I cannot even tell you how delicious this was)

AM Snack – P90X Chocolate Peanut Butter protein bar

Lunch – I woke up kind of late so the protein bar kind of acted as lunch, too

PM Snack – Fiber One Oats and Chocolate bar

Dinner – lemon garlic rosemary marinated chicken breast filets, grilled; delightful salad with “artisan” lettuce from Costco, romaine, carrots, baby peppers, cucumber, radishes and homemade dressing (recipe from the Team Beachbody newsletter) including avocado, fat free plain yogurt, parsley, garlic, red onion, lemon juice, salt and pepper; tomato basil soup (recipe from Sam the Cooking Guy) that was heated in the crock pot on high for a couple of hours before serving

I don’t have calorie or burn totals because my BodyBugg subscription just expired and as much as I love it I’m not ready to renew yet. Feel free to order Shakeology or an awesome Beachbody fitness program through my Beachbody Coach website to contribute to the fund. 😉

Never heard of a haystack? Well, it’s amazing. Not just because it tastes good, but it’s fast and easy to make. Plus, the kids love it and it can be easily customized to please even the pickiest eaters.

Breakfast – Chocolate Shakeology made with 4oz water, 8oz Blue Diamond Original almond milk, a little vanilla extract, some cinnamon and a couple ice cubes

AM Snack – 3 slices turkey bacon, 2 mandarin oranges

Lunch – 2 slices whole grain white bread, 6 extra-thin slices turkey, a little yellow mustard and 4 dill pickle slices (Yes, I know I said I was going to start using the meal planner to change things up, but I actually wrote that the morning after which was the same day I was eating this), 1 small Fuji apple

PM Snack – P90X Wildberry protein bar

Dinner – Haystacks! 1 1/2oz Fritos (you can use something healthier, but it’s not the same), 1c refried beans, 2c shredded iceberg lettuce (same thing as with the Fritos), 1 diced Roma tomato ($2.49/lb!! it’s just wrong), 5 sliced black olives, 2Tbs light sour cream, 2Tbs packaged guacmole (not my first choice by any means, but there were no ripe avocados at the store) 2Tbs salsa, 1oz shredded Mexican cheese blend

There are so many variations on this. Some people like to use chili instead of refried beans. Some people add Spanish rice. I prefer diced avocado when possible, then fresh guacamole, then store-bought as a last resort. I also love diced onions or green onions, but I’m the only one so I didn’t bother. Cilantro is good, too. Don’t like sour cream? My husband likes ranch dressing on his. So many options. You just have to use your imagination.

Dessert – 6oz Yoplait Light Key Lime Pie right after dinner, then later I had 6 mini Peppermint Patties
